Hazel Class – Mission Statement

Intent  A safe, engaging and inspiring environment where all pupils can aspire to reach their full potential in all aspects of their personal, social and academic life.

Implementation- Modified National Curriculum / SLD Curriculum & MAPS. Hazel class concentrate on teaching knowledge and skills that support the development of student’s learning, communication and independence. We aim to focus on exploring and accessing the world around us by learning in different environments, and using that knowledge in different contexts across the curriculum.

Impact Children who are curious and motivated to learn, who enjoy exploring, working, communicating and engaging with others.

Hazel class caters for key stage 2 pupils. We provide an inspiring, fun and engaging curriculum where all pupils can achieve. We differentiate to suit the needs of all pupils, and communication and independence skills are at the forefront of everything we do. Hazel class also value the importance of emotional awareness, empathy and self-regulation skills, to enable us to be the best that we can in school, at home, and in the future.
