Elm Class – Mission Statement
Intent To provide a nurturing, engaging environment which enables pupils to grow in all areas. We have a strong focus on supporting children to develop their communication, independence and self-regulation skills.
Implementation MSI Curriculum & MAPS Activities & learning tasks based on a modified national curriculum. We work in a sensory, practical and engaging way. All lessons promote communication and independence skills. As well as our subject learning, which includes English, maths and science work, we are working on key routines for growing up, including being safe in and out of school, eating, dressing, toileting and hygiene.
Impact Children who are able to communicate their wants and needs, and have developed their independence, self-regulation,
and physical skills in order to access the next stage of learning.
Welcome to Elm class
Elm class is a small class of key stage 2 pupils. We provide an engaging sensory curriculum, adapted to suit the various needs of our pupils. Throughout each day, we are teaching communication, self-regulation and independence skills alongside our curriculum aims. We are also learning to celebrate our achievements and to support each other, so that we can continue our school journey as healthy and happy learners.
