We have revamped PE lessons at Mountjoy over the last few years and Kelly Hext (previously Trotter) has led the school into a new era of excellence.

As our class sizes are small, we are not always able to create a full team of children who can play sports against each other. We also have lots of pupils with differences that make it hard to participate in the first place. For both of these reasons, we have joined all of our secondary classes together and then divided them into new groups for PE, giving them an opportunity to rotate around different activities tailored to their needs. In addition, we have broadened the variety of opportunities to develop physical skills across the ability range. Primary aged pupils are also getting to try lots of different activities as part of their healthy living curriculum.

Our dance festival earlier in the year, was given a special mention, as everyone took part in their own way. Well done to everyone involved in delivering PE at Mountjoy!
