Rowan – Kingcombe visits

Rowan – Kingcombe visits

Rowan Class had a fantastic afternoon at Kingcombe for their first visit of the year. We spent time identifying trees and flowers, and paused to listen carefully to birdsong, using the Merlin app to help us recognise different species.

A wonderful start to our outdoor learning this term — we’re excited to see what the next few weeks have in store!

Each term they select a state-funded school at random to win their Usborne eco book bundle. We were delighted to be picked as the winner of their Spring 2026 draw.

Chestnut & Rowan at Magdelen Farm

Chestnut & Rowan at Magdelen Farm

Chestnut & some of Rowan class are thoroughly enjoying their time at Magdelen Farm.  For some this is the first time they’ve been away for not just one night but two!

They have really enjoyed a variety of activities from orienteering, spending time with the animals, tasting produce in the polytunnels, foraging in the woods and cooking over a campfire.

More tomorrow………….

Juniper sailing at Portland Sailing Centre

Juniper sailing at Portland Sailing Centre

Juniper class enjoyed a trip to Portland  to set sail on the Weymouth waters. We joined our friends in Oak class in the sail boats and headed out across the harbour. It was a great experience for all the boys and was fully accessible for everyone . Staff at the centre were very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us all. Both Juniper boys got so much out of the hours sail, giving them a sense of freedom and enjoying the wind on their faces, thankfully the weather stayed on our side and we saw the sunshine. We hope to have this experience again  in the future.
