‘Handlebards’ visit Mountjoy

‘Handlebards’ visit Mountjoy

KS3 and 4 experienced the power of live theatre on Friday when we had the ‘Handlebards’ visit Mountjoy for the day.
We were treated to an engaging and fun performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ and were entranced throughout the whole 70 minutes.
Lots of laughter, disgusting moments and even staff getting up on stage! The afternoon saw the pupils developing their own acting skills becoming key Macbeth characters.
It was inspiring to see all of the students participating and most even had a go at performing to their peers.
What an amazing experience! A big thank you to FOMS for funding this.

Ash SNAPS visit

As part of an Ash Careers lesson, we took a visit to SNAPs in Bridport, Shoe Lane to see their Toys, Games and Collectibles shop. One of our students caught an interview with Tim using questions we’d planned in class. Tim shared how we can turn our passions and special interests into work when we’re older. Students then selected some interesting products from around the shop to explore and examine and some even completed transactions. We finished with a masterclass in painting miniatures. Thanks Tim and Jamie for inviting us into your lovely shop for our Careers lesson.

October Half-Term activities at Bridport Museum

October Half-Term activities at Bridport Museum

This October half term, Bridport Museum are running bat-themed Halloween activities at the Museum.
Children can make their own bat decoration, follow a bat-themed trail around the Museum, get a tasty prize, and learn a bit more about why bats aren’t as spooky as they seem.

All activities are included with entry. It’s free for children and under 21s, (£5 for adults).
Many local parents will already have an annual pass so it will be no cost in that case, and would be great to see more families in the museum this half term.
